Thefirst summer summit of world TCM congress and international symposium about TCMdevelopment was held in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, on June 13th, 2015. On thecongress, participants proposed that the construction of the new project willopen the 3.0 era for overseas development of TCM.

Participantsthought that the process of TCM to the world has experienced three periods: 1.0era of reform and opening in 1978; 2.0 era of China’s accession to the WorldTrade Organization; 3.0 era of the new Strategic Partnership Initiative. It isa key element for TCM services trade that TCM sector integrate the marketthinking, academic thinking and regulatory thinking to commercialize TCMservice products.

In 2014, the total exports ofTCM products to the countries and regions within the the new StrategicPartnership Initiative were 1.939 billion US dollars, with an increase of22.79% year on year, and the imports were $ 613 million, with a decrease of8.63% year on year. There will be a good foundation and condition if the World Federation of Chinese MedicineSocieties (WFCMS) participates the construction ofnew project , because thereare 97 member groups and 40,000 members in nearly 50 countries within theStrategic Partnership Initiative.

SheJing, chairman of WFCMS, introduced that after 12 years efforts, WFCMS hasdeveloped and become a international TCM academic organizations including 65countries and regions, 239 international group members, 74 professional / workingcommittee. This summer summit is a new try for expanding the three level ofacademic communication platform. During the third session of the seventhcouncil meeting and the sixth supervisory board meeting, the WFCMS willdiscuss some plannings, such as WFCMS support internationalstandardization of the Belt and Road development plan . WFCMS will start withthe cultural and academic exchange of TCM, and combine the health tourism,services trade, products trade and conference to expand the internationalexchanges and cooperation.
