The13^th five-year development plan of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) proposed that the construction of TCM culture should be highly regarded,and we can base on the abundant resource of TCM culture in China and promotethe popularization of TCM culture. Yang Chuntao, an associate professor of Shandong University of TCM, putting forward his own views as follows:

Firstly,promoting TCM culture into the school’s education. The publicity and education of TCM culture should be put in a more important position. For the different features of all educational levels including elementary school, middle school and high school, the TCM culture can be orderly integrated from shallower to thedeeper. For example, in elementary school, some TCM historical stories which arewell received by students and full of legendary can be used as the text into teaching materials, such as TCM storiesthough the ages in CCTV’s Lecture Room; in the middle school, thearticles about TCM which are easy to memorize for students can be used as thetext into teaching materials, such as Recipes in Verse; in high school, TCM articles inclassical Chinese also can be put into teaching materials as an outstandingwork for developing student’s character. TCM culture should play a positiverole in the growth of our young students, and attract more students to studyTCM to create talents for the development of TCM.

Secondly,focusing on the researches on the law of propagation. The researches on publicpsychology about awareness and reception of TCM should be deepened to find the way to eliminate public misconceptions about TCM. Under the premise of preserving the cognitive style, thinking character and value concept of TCM,the mass migration of TCM culture can be realized.

Thirdly,establishing the TCM festival and TCM open day. Though this way, people can learn more about TCM culture.

Fourthly,guiding the innovation of TCM culture. Integrating internet technology into thepublicity of TCM culture is an innovative way to popularize TCM culture. For example, building a large number of website and designing mobile phone APP to popularizing TCM culture by using internet technology.

What’smore, Yang Chuntao also proposed that promoting the TCM culture by cultivatingthe talents of TCM and constructing TCM museum. All in all, there are many waysto propagate the TCM culture, and the promotion of TCM culture becomes increasingly important.
