The 12th World Congress ofChinese Medicine was held in Barcelona, Spain on Sep. 24th and was closed onSep. 26th. Experts and scholars from all over the world conducted a study aboutthe latest research achievements on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and thefurther developing direction of TCM.

The theme of this conference is “BringChinese ancient TCM systems to the modern health services”. The discussion hasa wide range which includes trade in services, the health care industry,authentic ingredients of TCM, Chinese medicine clinical research, internationalintegrative medicine, kidney disease, diagnostics of TCM, acupuncture, laws andregulations of TCM, cultural tourism in TCM and so on.

Tang Heng, Chinese Consul Generalin to Barcelona, said that the goal of pursued by the  inheritance and development of TCM in the newperiod era is promoting TCM to the world to cooperate with modern medicine andserve the people better. Spain is one of the countries in Europe on thedevelopment of Chinese medicine education and medical treatments which startthe education and medical treatment of TCM earlier, and the Chinese medicineConference12nd World Congress of Traditional Chinese Medicine held in Barcelonahas fully demonstrated the world pharmaceutical industry supported supports thedevelopment of TCM in Spain and also showed that there was is a wide range ofmarket and a good foundation for the development of TCM. In recent years, someSpanish medical institutions and the related domestic research institutes haveestablished cooperative mechanism that interacts frequently and was welcomed bylocal people.
