On the 18th, 2019 China's Yunnan “Painted Faces Festival” was opened. Nearly 10,000 tourists from China and abroad and the local people experienced the infinite charm of the “Oriental Carnival”.

“Painted Faces Festival” is the oldest and most solemn traditional festival of the Qiubei people. The smeared face is a unique custom of the Yi people’s exorcism, mutual blessing and expression of love. It has been more than a thousand years old. In order to fully display the colorful national culture of Qiubei, since 2000, Qiubei County has held a series of different kinds of Painted Faces Festival activities every year, and has won the “Top Ten National Festival Brands in Yunnan” and the most influential in the year. Among them, the large-scale carnival of “Thousands of People Jumping Strings and Thousands of Wipes” held in the 2009 Painted Faces Festival won the Guinness World Record, adding a new meaning to this national holiday.
