The Genetic Association Between Myanmar and Southwest China Has Been Proved
Theresearch team led by Kong Qingpeng and Zhang Yaping from Kunming Institute ofZoology in the Chinese Academy of Sciences has found that the ancestors ofmodern human in East Asia may enter into the East Asia from the valley inSoutheast Asia besides the coastal route.Related research results have been published onScientific Reports.
Itis known that the valleys in the north of South Asia have created diverseenvironments and convenient routes. It has been a speculation that it may beused as the path of human communication but lackinggenetic evidences.Theresearchers analyzing 845 cases of mitochondrial DNA date which were firstlycollected from 14 Myanmar nationality and 5907 cases of mitochondrial DNA datefrom population of Myanmar and surrounding countries which has been published. The analysis showed that Myanmar may be one of the differentiation centers ofearly modern human, due to the high genetic diversity in the region of Myanmar.Researchers also found some halpogroups which only existed in Myanmar andsourthwest China.(Halpogroups are group of humans sharing a common mutation.)
Besides, the researchers have also found some direct genetic associations betweenMyanmar and mainland China. Some of the gene flows could be traced backed to200BC. Meanwhile, the genetic relationship between Myanmar and southwest Chinahas won the supports from archaeological records.
