National Human Genetic Resources Sharing Service Platform -South China Innovation Center is launched
September 27, “National Science and Technology Resource Sharing Service Platform Program - National Human Genetic Resources Sharing Service Platform South China Innovation Center” was launched in Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou. The directors of National Healthand Family Planning Commission, the directors of Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, the directors of Guangzhou Health and Family Planning Commission and all members of the project team attended the launching ceremony. They discussed and recommended on the construction of “South China Innovation Center”.
On the ceremony, Professor Ma Xu, the director of the National Center for Human Genetic Resources and director of the Institute of Science and Technology of National Health and Family Planning Commission, as the chief scientist of the National Human Genetic Resources Sharing Service Platform, made a report which themed “Exploration, Innovation and Future - National Human Genetic Resources Sharing Service Platform”. He systematically introduced the National Human Genetic Resources Sharing Service Platform from its seven strategic planning layouts, four major tasks, eight goals and six prime operational principles. What’s more, professor Ma took Being Innovation Center as an example, then proposed expectations and requirements on the orientation and goals of South China Innovation Center.
Dr. Zhao Jun made a report, named “National Human Genetic Resources Sharing Service Platform Frame and Biological Sample Information Data Collection”, which provide a technical solution to collect data reasonably and efficiently. Professor Xie Zhi introduced the “South China Innovation Center mission planning and operational objectives”, and analyzed the goals, methods and tasks of constructing South China Innovation Center.
This launching ceremony marked the beginning of constructing National Human Genetic Resources Sharing Service Platform - South China Innovation Center. South China Innovation Center will promote the standardization of human genetic resources in China; the improvement of the sharing service system; the innovation and utilization of cross-database, cross-domain and cross-border resources; the collaborative development of regional scientific research and bio-pharmaceutical industry, and the exploration of new models and new mechanism.
