Jinhua pig, also known as Jinhua two-headed Wu or Yiwu two-headed Wu, is one of the famous fine pig breeds in China. Jinhua pig has the advantages of early maturity, good meat quality and high reproductive rate. The “Jinhua Ham” made by salting has a good taste and is beautiful in appearance.

In response to the current extremely severe situation of African swine fever, the Municipal Agricultural and Rural Bureau has proposed to strengthen the protection of Jinhua pigs. The municipal party committee and the municipal government promptly approve and agree to protect. On February 19, 2019, Xu Ruhai, a researcher from the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, led a technical team to the Zhejiang Jiahua Pig Breeding Company to carry out the somatic cell collection work of Jinhua pigs.

Jinhua pigs are of great significance to Jinhua, and the conservation work is imminent. The stockpile farm should fully cooperate with the scientific research units to collect. The animal husbandry department should fully assist in the full-service work. The technical service undertaker should overcome the difficulties and perform the corresponding duties. Finally complete the agreed tasks as scheduled with quality and quantity and ensure the resources are safe.
