Ministry of Culture of The People`s Republic of China on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage: More Than 250 National Inheritance People Passed Away

Ma Shengde, deputy director of Intangible CulturalHeritage Bureau of the Ministry of Culture of The People`s Republic of China,expressed that the main problem of the protection of intangible culturalheritage is heritage groups fracture. By the end of August of this year, thereare more than 250 national representative successors passed away.
Ministry of Culture of the PRC held a press conferenceon Sptember 23rd to introduce the “Public construction of digital culture”,“Training programs of Chinese intangible cultural heritage workshops”.
Ma Shengde said, the main problems of the protectionof intangible cultural heritage now is the fracture of inheritance groups. Bythe end of the August this year, more than 250 national representativeinheritance people died, which has brought great challenges to the protectionof intangible cultural heritage.
Ma Chengde also said that the lack of worthysuccessors of the cultivation of inheritance of intangible cultural heritageprotection is fairly severe.
“Training the inheritors ofintangible cultural heritage is not easy, and the whole social environment isnot so good for young people to pass on such a traditional skill in currenttimes. Society is impetuous in general, but the inheritance of intangiblecultural heritage needs focus and calm down, it needs a fully concentration fora long time.” He said.
