On April 18^th,2016, Chongqing Annual Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Work Conference was held in Rongchang, a district in Chongqing. People from Cultural Committees, Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center and intangible cultural heritage professional cadres attended the conference. It was learned that the First China Time-honored Brand and Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo will be held at the end of May 2016 in Chongqing.

It was reported that Chongqing will carefully organize the training of inheritors this year.According to the “China Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors Training Plan” which issued by Ministry of Culture, 6 Training Classes of Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors will be held by Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and Chongqing College of Culture and Arts from June to October, with 340 trainees, covering bamboo weaving, pottery firing skills, Sichuan embroidery and so on. Intangible cultural heritage inheritors and apprentices can sign up for free. After the examination and approval, they can take part in the intensive training lastingfor one month.

From May 27^thto 29^th, with the support of Chongqing Culture Committee, with the Municipal Commerce Commission, Chongqing Time-honored Brand Association and Chongqing Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association will hold the First China Time-honored Brand and Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo in Nanping Exhibition Center. The exhibition will set up more than 1,000 booths and morethan 800 exhibitors (projects) will attend.

Chongqing also will further explore the intangible cultural heritage projects in thetraditional handicraft class, strengthening the guidance of traditional craftclass projects declaration. Besides, Chongqing will enhance the spirit and sense of craftsmen relying on the Training Plan and vigorously guide and support social forces to be engaged in the product R&D and designing of traditional technical products.

The implementation of the rescued recording projects of intangible cultural heritage representative inheritors and archives and database construction arethe priorities. The city will ensure that before the end of 2016, it will complete the recording work of national intangible cultural heritage representative inheritors who are over 70 years and pass the acceptance.
