The Huashan Festival: The Traditional New Year of the Miao Ethnic Group
The Huashan Festival is a grand festival for the Miao people in County Xiangshuilong located in Guangxi Province, which celebrates from the second day to the seventh day of the first month of Chinese lunar year. The Miao people would have actives included with singing, the Lusheng Dance, bullfrighting, and so on, to pray for a good harvest in the new year.
It is the 20th Huashan Festival in the County Xiangshuilong in 2017, and there are over a thousand people who have been to the Huashan Festival this year. Tourists could visit the Inheritance of the Traditional Culture of the Miao Ethnic Group Museum,apart from watching the brilliant performance during the festival. It is a good chance to learn more about the traditional culture of the Miao group, and a platform for the communication between each ethnic group.
The residents of the County Xiangshuilong are most of the Miao people and the Zhuang people, the county is very characteristic. The government of the Yanshan Town has implemented a plan based on the situation and the ethnic characteristic of the County Xiangshuilong with the prospect that the tourist industry in the County Xiangshuilong will be developed.
