On February 8th, 2018, Fujian Province announced the fourth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage representative inheritors, including one from Hongkong and one from Taiwan among 183 people. This was the first time that people from Hong Kong and Taiwan were selected into the list of intangible cultural heritage representative inheritors in Fujian Province. So far, there had been 735 provincial intangible cultural heritage representative inheritors in Fujian Province.

According to the introduction, the review gave priority to the traditional arts and traditional techniques projects, including 109 people. It also gave priority to the intangible cultural heritage projects which didn’t have provincial representative inheritors in the first four batches such as Wing Chun and Tea Acrobatics, or those with no inheritor or inheritance ability. It is worth mentioning that it was the first time to review the representative inheritors from Taiwan of the first batch of intangible cultural heritage projects. LIAO Deliang is the representative inheritor of the stone carving of Shoushan in the Taiwan. He has the reputation of “Liao Yi Dao”. The judges believed that he had a clear lineage, exquisite workmanship and extensive influence so that they recommended him. In addition, HUANG Yingqiang, the inheritor of the traditional making techniques of Huang Jin Xing in Zhaoan County, is a Chinese citizen of Hongkong. Currently, he has run a factory in Zhaoan County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. The judges thought that HUANG Jinxing, once living in Zhaoan, had a clear lineage. In addition, there is no provincial representative inheritor of this project. These are reasons why recommend him.
