The traditional textile, dyeing and weaving skills of the Li nationality in Hainan will enter UNESCO
In order to promote China's intangible cultural heritage and promote the traditional textile, dyeing and embroidery skills of the Li ethnic group in Hainan, the Hainan Provincial Tourism and Culture Broadcasting and Sports Department will hold a cultural exchange exhibition at UNESCO headquarters in Paris from September 6th to 12th.
It is understood that in October 2009, 25 intangible cultural heritage projects in China were included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, and the "Li traditional spinning, dyeing and weaving skills” declared by Hainan Province were included in the first batch of intangible cultural heritage in urgent need of protection.
In the past ten years, Hainan province has built five training centers for traditional Li spinning, dyeing, weaving and embroidery skills, maintained 148 areas of raw material cultivation and production bases for the inheritance of successors, and maintained normal operation of 16 li brocade skills inheritance villages, and carried out the practice of li brocade skills in 62 primary and secondary schools.
According to the responsible person of the Hainan Provincial Tourism and Culture Radio and Television Department, the exhibition in Paris will be divided into five parts: the traditional textile, dyeing and embroidery skills exhibition area, the living state exhibition area, the customs exhibition area, the ten-year conservation achievements exhibition area and the innovative culture exhibition area. Hainan will select one representative inheritor of li nationality's traditional textile, dyeing and embroidery skills at the national level, four representative inheritors and youth representatives at the provincial level to give a demonstration at the site. At that time, the show will focus on the masterpieces of the inheritors.
