Abstract: Howto do the protection and inheritance work of intangible cultural heritage hasbecome a focus of attentions in academic and practical fields; The art of DongSongs is such a kind of world-class cultural products which has been includedinto the representative list of intangible cultural heritage. The inheritanceof Dong Songs has been influenced by various factors with internal and externalenvironment changes within the development of tourism. This study starts withthe mechanism’s force structure system and operating rules, analyzing on the organizationalcharacteristics of Dong Songs performance, then to build a protection andinheritance mechanism model of Dong Songs, in order to provide a system ofideas and frameworks for the tourism development in context of the protectionand inheritance of Dong Songs.

In the first part, it points outthat due to the changes of the society and people’s views, the protection andinheritance of Dong Songs has faced some challenges and dilemma, especiallyunder the development of tourism. So far, researches on Dong Songs are mainlyon ethnomusicology, anthropology, ecology, inheritance of intangible culturalheritages, the effects of social changes and so on. Thus, researches oninheritance of Dong Songs in context of tourism development are of necessary.

In the second part, which is thekey part of this thesis as well, it introduces the mechanisms which needed tobe build, including intrinsic and external mechanism. (sees graph below)

The last part is the conclusionpart, in this part, it reiterates the inheritance mechanism building and pointsout that tourism exploration is a basic way of Dong Songs’ protection andinheritance, and Dong Songs must be implemented on the basis of inheriting thetraditional functions and make cultural innovation.
