Recently, Sichuan Administration of traditional Chinese medicine announced the construction units of key specialties (special diseases) of traditional Chinese medicine in 2019, and determined 161 specialty (special diseases) construction units, including geriatric department of Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of traditional Chinese medicine.

The notice requires all construction units to give full play to the main responsibility, carry out the construction work practically, highlight the characteristics and advantages of traditional Chinese medicine, and complete the construction task according to the plan in accordance with the requirements of the administrative measures for the construction of key TCM specialties (special diseases) in Sichuan Province and the acceptance standard for the construction of key TCM specialties (special diseases) in Sichuan Province. The construction period of key specialty of traditional Chinese medicine (special disease) is three years. After the expiration of the period, Sichuan Traditional Chinese medicine bureau will organize the review and acceptance.

At the same time, the municipal (prefecture) Health Committee and the administration of traditional Chinese medicine shall, in accordance with the requirements of the construction work, strengthen the organization, management, guidance and support for the construction of key specialties (special diseases) of traditional Chinese medicine, and promote the construction units to complete the construction tasks on time.
