On September 5th, the 2019 National Human Genetic Resources Management Training Course, organized by the Department of Social Development and Technology of the Ministry of Science and Technology and co-organized by the China Biotechnology Development Center, was held in Guangzhou.

In the view of the participants, with the rapid development of life science and biotechnolagy, the uniqueness, strategic, basic status and value of human genetic resources have become increasingly prominent. But then, the threshold of biotechnology is getting lower and lower, and the possibility of the abuse of human genetic resources is further increased, and even used to threaten the safety of specific groups and races.

The meeting held that it is necessary to pay attention to the management of human genetic resources in two aspects. On the one hand, it is necessary to strengthen supervision, clarify the main responsibilities of all parties, strengthen supervision and inspection of all links, and enforce strong punishments for relevant violations in strict compliance with legal requirements; On the other hand, optimize the services, simplify the approval process, strengthen the publicity of regulations, promote scientific research and rational use, strike a balance between development and supervision.

The training course lasted for 2 days. The training content mainly includes the introduction of the background and interpretation of the "Regulations", the progress report on the construction of the science and technolagy supervision system and the latest policy introduction of drug clinical trial management reform, medical ethics and examination and approval of entry and exit health quarantine on special goods. Policy questions, group discussions and experience sharing were arranged.
