Adopted at the fifth session of the 14^th National People's Congress (NPC) of Lingshui County, Hainan Provience, on Jan 23, 2015, the adoption of Regulations on The Intangible Cultural Heritages of Lingshui Li Nationality Autonomous County represent that the protection of intangible cultural heritage in Lingshui county has been developed into the orbit of legal and normalized system.

Intangible cultural heritages always spread among common people and some of them haves already been lost. Local government should take the responsibility to protect the intangible cultural heritage to carry forward it. It is necessary to take legal protection on these intangible cultural heritages.

So far, there are lots of intangible cultural heritages in Lingshui, both at national level and provincial level, including the craft of dyeing and weaving of Li nationality, Miao’s wedding customs and so on. These abundant resources of intangible cultural heritages are of great significance to the implementation of the strategy called “Strong County of Culture”.

It is reported that Lingshui county will initiate the construction of intangible cultural heritages and strengthen the collection, systematization, research, presentation and preservation of intangible cultural heritages. It will also take effective measures to develop and utilize the textile crafts full of national characteristics, carrying forward the production methods of traditional foods. It will also collect, improve and present the traditional music, dance and festivals, developing the traditional medicine of Li and Miao nationality, carrying forward the particular therapy of Li and Miao nationality as well as recording, writing and publishing the annals of intangible cultural heritages to advocate excellent traditional culture.
