State Administration of Cultural Heritage has reported that Chinese WorldCultural Heritage Monitoring Center has been established on Jan 23^th,2015. Its main obligations are: (1) establishing and maintaining a monitoringand warning system for Chinese world cultural heritage; (2) conducting reactivemonitoring, as well as monitoring, reporting and assessing on heritage sites;(3) providing technical guidance, professional consultation and training onheritage-sites monitoring, ; (4) conducting national work and research related withworld cultural heritage; (5) drafting related regulations, drafting relatedtechnical standard, specification and system; (6) organizing and implementingmajor projects and critical technology research; (7) conducting internationalcooperation and academic exchange; and so on.

Chinese World Cultural Heritage Monitoring Center works independently as aninternal organization of Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage. It is reportedthat Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage began to establish world culturalheritage monitoring and warning system from 2012. So far, it has preliminarilyestablished the general monitoring and early warning platform covering functionmodules including the general platform, monitoring data and index system, earlywarning information and disposition, the process and function of monitoringservices. It has also preliminarily identified 59 items of monitoring data andindex systems which could be divided into 17 categories and have effects on thevalue of cultural heritages in the protective administration of cultural relics.Meanwhile, it will launch the connection between the three local platforms suchas Grand Canal, Suzhou traditional garden and the Longmen Grottoes, and thegeneral platform, gradually realizing the interconnection and inter-workingbetween state and heritage sites.

Chinese World Cultural Heritage Monitoring Center has stepped into the formalstage of developing as the state research center and general platform ofmonitoring and protection on our world cultural heritages. It marks asignificant improvement in the protection work of our world cultural heritagesand will powerfully promote the management level on our world cultural heritages.
