The “Root and Soul • Exhibition of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Gansu Province” Came to an End in Hong Kong

Recently, the “2015 Rool and Soul · Exhibition of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Gansu Province” hold by the Ministry of Culture of the People`s Republic of China, the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Gansu Provincial Department of Culture as well as co-sponsored by Hong Kong United Arts Entertainment and Cultural Exchange Center Co.Ltd. has come to an end after more than 20 days’ performancein Hong Kong.

Lanzhou drum and other heritage items were invited to participate in this activity. It is reported that it is the first time for Lanzhou drum to participate in activities like this. 12 repertoires were showed in this performance, including Yu Boya Zither,Grass Boat Trap for Arrows, Lin Chong Night Rush, etc. With its plain and elegant phraseology which is also concise, comprehensive and profound as well as of unique charm, coupled with the wonderful performance by the Lanzhou drum player Liu Yanling, the performance has won Hong Kong audience’swarm applause.

Some praised a lot for the performance and feel amazing about Lanzhou folk art. Many audience even watched the show every day and felt attached. After the performance, some people asked for details of the development of Gansu Province and a lot of people said they want to take a trip to Gansu Province, all are in peaceful and joyful atmosphere.

The event has left a profound effect and win a good reputation in HongKong, which has played an important role in strengthening the cultural exchanges between the China Mainland and Hong Kong, and it also play a great effect on the publicity of Gansu Province.
