Yangtze River Delta Cities Traditional Arts of Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Was Held in Nantong City
With the opening of 2016 Nantong Jianghai International Exposition (shorted as “Exposition” after) , the Yangtze River Delta Cities Traditional Arts of Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition in Nantong was heldat 1895 Cultural and Creative Industry Park from May 28th to May 30th, which is free for residents and visitors to pay a visit.
It is reported that the “Yangtze River Delta” Agglomeration is an area which has the highest degree of urbanization, the most intensive urban distribution and the highest level of economic development in China. It is internationally recognized as one of the six world-class urban agglomerations in the world as well.
With the cooperation of this Exhibition and Yangtze River Delta Cities Economic Coordination Committee, the Exhibition had invited 120 traditional skills projects at national or provincial level of intangible cultural heritage of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai to fully display Nantong’s long history and profound cultural deposits, strengthening cultural exchanges and communication among the Yangtze River Delta cities.
The exhibition had invited dozens of national or provincial representative inheritors to give live performances, as well as relevant physical display and panel introduction which comprehensively display the long history and profound cultural deposits of Yangtze River Delta cities.
The exhibition was divided into two display halls, Jiangnan Crafts and Jianghai Skills which covers 120 representative intangible cultural heritage projects of traditional skills and traditional arts of the Yangtze River Delta cities, including 7 human intangible cultural heritage projects, such as LongquanCeladon, Song Brocade;51 national intangible cultural heritage projects, such as Shanghai Floss for Embroidery, Nantong Blue Printed Cloth, and 29 municipal intangible cultural heritage projects, such as Nantong Sculptures, Silk Cut and Paste. A visitor said that the craftsmen are amazing that they had use their own hands to manufacture handiwork and daily necessities. It had witnessed the development and wisdom of our country.
This is a picture of Changzhou (in Jiangsu Province) pyrography. Just as its name implied,it is made by the heating soldering iron, general in the materials of wood, bamboo, paper, cloth, silk, calabash. According to Master Zhang, the author’s introduction, pyrography can make painting store longer, not easy to fade. Landscapes, flowers and birds, animals, people and calligraphy can be branded.
