Tiema: the Hand-made Serge of the Township Zedang
The Pulu is a kind of wooden fabric made in Tibet which could make into clothes and blanket. The top level Pulu is so called serge. The hand-made surge in the Township Zedang, Shannan City, the Tibet is also called the Zetie. Ze means the Township Zedang, tie is short of the Tiema which is the name of surge in Tibetan, since the craft of surge in the Township Zedang is unique.
The craft of hand-made serge is difficulty, and the materials is high quality, so the serge had been only provided to aristocraciesin Tibet. In 2008, there were few succor of the hand-made serge in the Township Zedang in Tibet.
The Naidong Ethnic Hand-made Serge Cooperative had been found on 1 May 2008. The Cooperative collects instruments for serge-making has a long history apart from producing. Basang, the founder of the Cooperative is also collecting the reference of hand-made serge in the Township Zedang. The business of the hand-made serge is doing well and new orders keep pouring in. The craft of hand-made serge has been brought into the modern society now.
