Shandong Province has sorted out its cultural heritage resources, including more than 50,000 non-movable cultural relics, 2.86 million movable cultural relics and 4 world cultural heritage and 8 projects included in the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

4 world cultural heritage projects include Mount Tai (World Natural and Cultural Heritage), the Confucius Temple, the Confucius Mansion, and the Confucius Family Graveyard in Qufu, the Great Wall of Qi and the Grand Canal (Shandong Section).

8 projects included in the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity include Yantai Paper-cut, Binzhou Paper-cut, Gaomi Paper-cut, Juxian Paper-cut, Zhucheng seven-stringed plucked instrument, Jinan Shadow Play, Taian Shadow Play and Dingtao Shadow Play. Besides, There are 173 national intangible cultural heritage projects, including Cuju(an ancient game of kicking a ball), Laoshan Folk Tales, Xufu Legend, Liaozhai Folk Tune, Changdao Folk Songs, Jinan Yangko, Jiaozhou Yangko, Lv Opera, Shadow Show in Jinan, Jiaodong Drum, Shandong Drum and so on.

Furthermore, there are 10 famous historical and cultural cities at the national level, including Qufu, Jinan, Qingdao, Liaocheng, Zoucheng, Linzi, Taian, Penglai, Yantai and Qingzhou. What’s more, there are 75 traditional Chinese villages, including Zhujiayu Village, Guanzhuang Town, Zhangqiu District, Jinan City; Qingshanyu Village, Wanggezhuang Street, Laoshan District, Qingdao City; Xiongyasuo Village, Fengcheng Town, Jimo City, Qingdao City and so on. There are 196 national key cultural relics preservation units, including the Confucius Temple and the Confucius Mansion, the Confucius Family Graveyard, Chengziya Archaeological Site, Site of Capital of Kingdom Qi in Linzi, Site of Capital of Kingdom Lv in Qufu, Lingyan Temple, Penglai Sea Castle and Penglai Pavilion, Dawenkou Site and so on.
