On February 22^nd,2016, “Hundred Workers in Jiangnan -- the First Yangtze Delta Zone Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo” opened in Duoyunxuan Art Center in Shanghai, which comprehensively and systematically arranged and displayed abundant intangible cultural heritage projects in different forms in Yangtze Delta. This was thefirst time that a comprehensive intangible cultural heritage exhibition on alarge scale had been held in Yangtze Delta.

Almost a hundred of intangible cultural heritage projects were included in this exhibition.Numerous intangible cultural heritage projects mutually showed interaction and profound deposits of Jiangnan culture. In addition, nearly one hundred of inheritors at national and provincial (city) levels, including Houwen XIA, ZhengcongMAO, Erke GAN, Xianglian YU, Weizhong XING , Masters of Chinese Arts and Crafts,were invited to the exhibition. “Intangible Cultural heritage Alliance inYangtze Delta”, launched by the exposition, aims to build a platform for excellent intangible cultural heritage projects and inheritors in Yangtze to display,cooperate and exchange.

Interestingly,the expo had also set up Japanese Pavilion to show representative Japanese intangible cultural heritage projects, in order to promote cultural exchanges between Yangtze Delta and foreign countries in respect of intangible cultural heritage.

Xiaomin ZHANG,the group chairman of Duoyunxuan, said that it should uphold the principle of “givingpriority to protection, rescue first, rational use, inheritance and development”.To let intangible cultural heritage really be able to inherit, maintain the lasting vitality, and let more ordinary people, especially young people know,get close to intangible cultural heritage, it was urgent to combine richcultural elements with popular cultural and creative products to contrapuntally and individually explore the road of industrialization of intangible cultural heritage projects. It can dynamically protect, rescue, inherit and developintangible cultural heritage. The expo also hopes to make new breakthroughs inindustrialization of intangible cultural heritage.
