The Ninth Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo, Zhejiang, China Opened
On September 21st, 2017, sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government, hosted by Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association and Hangzhou Cultural and Creative Industry Office, the Ninth Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo, Zhejiang, China (hereinafter referred to as “Expo”) opened in Hangzhou Baimahu International Exhibition Center. Nearly 400 inheritors and relevant practitioners from 27 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) participated in the Expo.
Themed as “Better Intangible Cultural Heritage, Better Life”, the Expo organized a series of activities around the humanized characteristics, productive protection and ecological protection of intangible cultural heritage. Various intangible cultural heritage projects, including related derivatives, showed their unique charms in the form of exhibition, performances, interactive experience and so on.
There are seven highlights of the Expo, including the Living Theme Museum of “Twenty-four Solar Terms”, Achievements Exhibitions of Zhejiang intangible cultural heritage productive base and eco-cultural protection zone, the Boutique Exhibition of donated works, the intangible cultural heritage exhibition of “One Belt & One Road” provinces, the Hangzhou (the Grande Canale) Forum of traditional process of revitalization and National Embroidered Shoes Competition.
