The UNESCO Database for International Intangible Cultural Heritage was launched in Beijing
On November 29th, 2017, initiated by UNESCO, Global Hope Coalition, YongXinHua Holdings Group, YongXinHuaYun Cultural Industry Investment Group, guided by China National Commission for UNESCO, China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association, the UNESCO Database for International Intangible Cultural Heritage was launched in Beijing Tianleyuan Theatre.
Science, Education and Culture Promote ICH Inheritance
At the press conference, speakers from various fields such as science, education and culture made efforts to build cross-border cultural three-dimensional ecological layout from the aspects of cultural protection, inheritance and innovation. The aim is to inherit and develop the cultural essence, and to show its historical value andartistic charm in a new form, achieving a revival of traditional culture.
However, the development of Internet technology has brought a huge challenge to the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. How to integrate technology and humanity and how to protect and inherit intangible cultural heritage by Internet are the main tasks for exploration and research of ICH in the new era.
Reviving Traditional Culture with the Power of the Internet
The launch of the UNESCO Database for International Intangible Cultural Heritage achieves the living inheritance of “Internet+ Intangible Cultural Heritage”.
The Database is an important platform to protect, inherit and communicate intangible cultural heritage, with the Internet as the medium. This Database has established the unified classification standard and the only international identification coding for intangible cultural heritage, collecting and collating 2.2 million contents of the language version.
At present, the Database has collected more than 30 thousand projects, more than 3,000 inheritors, covering 105 countries and regions.
Reviving ICH by Multi-Cooperation
At the press conference, YongXinHuaYun(a company protecting ICH) signed cooperation programs with science and technology enterprises, educational organizations and training institutions and cultural institutions, and reached the intangible cultural heritage protection agreements with the cultural organizations.
