On December 28^th, 2017, the Ministry of Culture announced the fifth batch of national intangible cultural heritage inheritors list. 45 people in Shanxi have been selected. The list covers many categories, such as traditional music, traditional drama, Quyi, traditional art, traditional techniques, folk customs and so on.

There is an inheritor of the folk literature category called JIE Fang from Wanrong County; 3 inheritors of the traditional music category, such as LIU Shengxin from Xinzhou City, CUI Qingyun from Zhangzi County, LIU Xiaohong from Lin County; 4 inheritors of the folk dance category, such as WU Mingchang from Wanrong County, ZHANG Feifei from Yicheng County; 11 inheritors of the traditional drama category, such as JIANG Bingzheng from Jinzhong City, SUN Guiming from Taigu County, LI Yingying from Taigu County; 3 inheritors of the traditional sports and recreation category, such as SONG Guanghua from Taigu County, MU Jinqiao from Qi County, JIANG Tiancang from Taiyuan City; 6 inheritors of the traditional art category, such as ZHANG Hongxia from Yangcheng County, DONG Qiaolan from Wenxi County, LI Chengxiu from Lan County;13 inheritors of the traditional techniques category, such as WANG Decai from Xiangfen County, ZHANG Hongliang from Pingding County, ZHANG Xiaochun from Jiaocheng County; and, 4 inheritors of the traditional folklore category, such as JIANG Fengyue from Liulin County, GAO Yumin from Wanrong County, HAO Laixi from Dai County and XIANG Jianfeng from Yongji City.
