During the “13th Five-Year” period, Shenyang City will promote the construction of intangible cultural heritage museums. At the same time, relying on the north market area (the north of Heping District, Shenyang City), it will promote the construction of “China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Base”.

At present, there are 196 municipal intangible cultural heritage projects (hereinafter referred to as ICH) in Shenyang, including 10 national and 40 provincial ones. Besides, there are 148 representative inheritors above the municipal level, including 7 national and 38 provincial ones.

The number of representative ICH projects and inheritors above the municipal level in Shenyang ranks the highest in the whole province and in the northeast region.

In 2014, “the traditional cooking techniques of Liao cuisine” was selected into the fourth batch of national intangible cultural heritage representative list.

In 2015, 4 projects including “carved porcelain” were selected into the fifth batch of provincial intangible heritage representative list.

By the end of 2017, Shenyang City has published seven municipal intangible cultural heritage representative lists, and has formed the national, provincial, municipal, district (county, city) system with the complete database.

In 2015, 11 persons such as WANG Shuzheng were identified as the provincial representative inheritors.

In 2017, 3 persons such as LIU Jingxian were recommended to the national representative inheritors list. In the same year, 3 persons such as LI Yuheng were named the first batch of “Liaoning craftsmen”.

Up to now, Shenyang has announced four batches of municipal inheritors list. The number of representative inheritors at the municipal level has reached 148.

As of the end of 2017, Shenyang has named 100 “Shenyang Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Base” of three batches.
