Jining’s abundant intangible cultural heritage resources include: folk literature, traditional music, traditional dance and so on. At present, there are 17 national intangible cultural heritage projects, 61 provincial projects, 210 municipal projects and 600 county-level projects, which basically cover the various categories of intangible cultural heritage. And the number of projects at all levels is the top of Shandong Province. What’s more, there are 11national inheritors, 36 provincial inheritors and 165 municipal inheritors, which has formed a perfect four-level system of state, provincial, city andcounty. The establishment of museums and inheritance bases such as Liangzhu Museum, Yutang Cultural Museum, Sishui Folk Museum have played a role in promoting the inheritance of related projects.

Jining has set up the project database, which archives and preserves intangible cultural heritage by video, picture and text. Besides, the regular return visit system has been established with the related inheritors to guide the inheritance of the apprentice, the establishment of inheritance places and the regular teaching. Meanwhile, there are more than 6 thousand resource projects in Jining. According to the different degrees of danger, these projects are filed and different protection schemes are made. In 2017, “Going to Jinxiang to listen opera” was selected as one of the ten highlights of Shandong’s intangible cultural heritage protection. Today, the Xuanfu Lane, located on the ancient canal of Jining, has become a venue for intangible cultural heritage inheritors.
