Multi Measures in Huashan District to Promote ICH Protection
On July 5th, 2018, the Huashan (the district of Ma’anshan City, Anhui Province) government announced the fourth batch of the list of the representative intangible cultural heritage projects. “Huoli Mutton Cake” became the eighth intangible cultural heritage at the district level.
Up to now, the Huashan Paper-cut has been included into the provincial intangible cultural heritage list. The Legend of Cilao Mountain, Huoli Rooster Hill and Huoli Tiger Dance have been included in the municipal intangible cultural heritage list. Meanwhile, there are 8 district-level intangible cultural heritage projects, such as Xingyi Eight Trigram Palm and so on.
In order to strengthen the excavation and protection of the intangible cultural heritage projects, the district first built files by collecting data, recording complete stories, classifying and cataloging, organizing expert argumentation, scientific evaluation and social publicity. At the same time, it actively used the means of words, recordings, videos and digital multimedia to protect the projects and actively collected relevant material data to properly preserve and rationally use.
Furthermore, the representative intangible cultural heritage projects were entered into the campus through social and school education. Festival activities, exhibitions, observations, trainings, professional seminars and other forms are also actively used to deepen the public understandings and promote social sharing.
In the next step, the district plans to declare the Xingyi Eight Trigram Palm and Huoli Mutton Cake into the municipal list and establish the protection center and the inheritance base.
