Recently, the two projects “Exploring Plum in Longquan” and “Kunming Micro-Carving” in Panlong District of Kunming City were listed in the fourth batch of intangible cultural heritage protection list in Yunnan Province, and they were officially awarded at the provincial level.

 

“Exploring Plum in Longquan” is a traditional custom in Kunming. For thousands of years, at the beginning and the end of each year, Kunming people will go to the Black Dragon Pond Park to worship the dragon gods and pray for good weather and peace of life. In the long run, the appreciation of plums has gradually become an important traditional custom of this season, and it has become one of the famous "Eight Sceneries of Kunming".

 

Kunming Micro-Carving” is a component of the art of carving, and it is a carving technique that is known for its fineness. The Chinese micro-carvings have a long history, and the Kunming micro-carvings flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
